Latino Community Foundation Provides Key Leadership

There are over one million Latinos living in Colorado, and a 154% increase in the state’s Latino population is projected by 2030. Despite this emergence, Colorado organizations by and for Latinos generally see limited funding and support from both the nonprofit and for-profit communities.

During the past decade, the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) has provided more than $6 million in grants, leadership training and capacity-building support to individuals, communities and organizations. LCFC’s programs and giving circles provide grants for immigration services, rural mental health, leadership opportunities for Latinas, and more.

LCFC gifts to small community-based organizations have had a huge impact. The youth-serving nonprofit INSPiRE reported hosting their largest “dreamer day” ever last year with help from LCFC funding. Latina Safehouse, which provides bilingual and culturally sensitive services to Latina victims of domestic violence, was able to provide food vouchers, monthly bus passes, and other basic services to women in their program thanks to funding by LCFC.

LCFC also convenes community leaders, policy and decision makers, and stakeholders for an annual statewide forum. Alpine Bank, a proud sponsor of this event in 2018, will sponsor the forum this year as well, enabling LCFC to provide scholarships and travel assistance to attendees.

Follow LCFC on social media (@LatinoCFC) to learn more or visit Latinocfc.org to find out how you can get involved.
