Creating a lifestyle brand and a life in the Colorado Rockies

Ohana is a Hawaiian word that refers to a person’s extended family in the broadest sense: it can include friends, visitors and other social groups.

Luke Dudley grew up in Steamboat and his wife Emily moved to the mountain town in 2004. The couple lived on Maui for a few years and fully dropped in to the culture and lifestyle of the Aloha State, where they came up with the idea of starting their own apparel line and business. With that plan they moved back to the mainland, and today, six years later, they own and operate their unique Steamboat Springs and Breckenridge retail shops called Ohana.

Ohana is a mountain lifestyle brand. “We design and screen-print apparel and home goods inspired by the mountains, beach and adventure,” said Emily. “In addition to our Ohana line of goods we also carry about 40 other Colorado artisans’ goods in the shops.” Luke and Emily both love working with other creatives and they’re inspired to share their work. Shoppers will find anything from leather goods and jewelry to art and cards.

The shared value of community was important to the Dudleys when they chose to bank with Alpine Bank. “It was one of the best decisions we made when opening our small business. Alpine Bank values customer service and the local community, and they’re responsive to our needs as business owners,” said Luke. “It’s been a great relationship!”
