Lead the way with volunteerism in July

Alpine Bank employees that lead the way with volunteerism! We’re sharing stories about our Alpine Bank family and the organizations they serve, all across Colorado. Alpine Bank provides each of its full-time employees with 24 hours of paid volunteer time annually. With 890 employees, we have the potential to provide 21,360 hours of community and nonprofit service each year.

Adonna Allen, Market President, Steamboat/Summit County

Organization: Routt County CattleWomen

Length of volunteer service: Since 1999

Volunteer role: Treasurer

In Adonna’s own words: While I maintain the organization’s financials, I am more excited about the variety of different community events we organize and host — ranging from a Memorial Day Beef Meal for Veterans, Annual Poker Run, showcasing ranches in Routt County, scholarships for local ranch kids, and my personal favorite, Third Grade Ranch Days. Five different ranches host every Steamboat and South Routt third-grader for a fun, informative and active field day each spring. At our ranch, we teach kids the differences between bulls, cows, heifers and steers, why conservation and animal welfare are paramount, Colorado water rights and the food and byproduct purposes of cattle.

Sarah Fuller, Relationship Manager, Breckenridge

Organization: Smart Bellies

Length of volunteer service: 3 Years

Volunteer role: I help to pack food bags to feed families and students in our community. The mission statement of Smart Bellies is to bridge the gap of food insecurity by providing bags of nutritious food to school-aged children, allowing them to get the full benefit of their education and development.

In Sarah’s own words: I believe that everyone should have access to consistent food that makes them feel good. Smart Bellies works to build relationships between schools, government services, volunteers, and community members to broaden their reach. The food bags are filled with breakfast, lunch and snack items. The idea is that these are items students can get at school during the week; we want them to have the same fuel to get them through the weekend.
