For every child who needs them

Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation raises funds to help kids and families

Children’s Hospital Colorado serves people across the Rocky Mountain region and throughout the world. In fact, they’re the only nonprofit pediatric hospital in the seven-state region and within an 850-mile radius. Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) treats all children, regardless of a family’s ability to pay, because they share the belief that every child deserves a healthy and hopeful future.

The hospital is an academic pediatric acute care hospital, with a main campus in Aurora. From audiology to urology, cancer to pediatric surgery, CHCO has more than 2,000 board-certified pediatric specialists — and they provide primary care, too.

Although the hospital was established in 1908, its foundation didn’t come along until 1978. Now in its 45th year, the foundation’s work is fueled by giving.

“We’re committed to community engagement and facilitating philanthropic support on behalf of the children and families served at Children’s Colorado,” says Emily Kotas, director of corporate partnerships. “From research to family services to expert pediatric care, the hospital and its supporters have a transformational influence on lives.”

Over the last seven years, Alpine Bank has contributed $938,121.98 through its Loyalty Debit Card program to the Children’s Fund, a program of the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation.

“These dollars directly support Children’s Colorado’s greatest needs and help not only our courageous patients and their families, but also our providers,” says Emily. “It’s a strong testament that a donation, even as small as 10 cents per transaction, has the power to impact children who rely on us every day.”

She adds that with the help of the Loyalty Debit Card program and other partners supporting the Children’s Fund, Children’s Colorado is able to treat over 300,000 patients each year.

Jackie Devine, Alpine Bank director of community outreach, is a recent addition to the foundation’s corporate leadership council and was on hand for the Alice 105.9 Cares for Kids Radiothon in February.

“It’s gratifying to have a direct view in this volunteer role with the foundation, and to see how fundraising translates into care for families and children when they need it most,” says Jackie.
