Everything is better with donuts

Locally, he’s known as Bobby the Donut Whisperer. For the past three-and-a-half years, Bobby Sanderson and his family have been serving hot, fresh, mini donuts from their cheerfully festooned food truck. Aspen Mini Donuts is a small business run by a big family.

“We moved to the Roaring Fork Valley ten years ago to live the Colorado lifestyle,” says Bobby. “We have a large family. Six kids and nine grandchildren so far; with spouses there are 21 of us! We love to camp and ski and spend time in the wilderness.”

The mobile approach has given the Sandersons the ability to cater at large events and festivals, in addition to serving up donuts to regular customers at farmer’s markets. “It allowed us to bring our business to our customers, rather than having one location where customers came to us.”

Donuts are available in many places. The differentiator for Aspen Mini Donuts is the customer service that’s served up alongside the sweet treats, which has become an integral part of the brand.

“Our business revolves around giving each customer a warm and personal experience,” says Bobby. “Our goal is that each person leaves our window knowing that they are appreciated and valued.”

In fact, the mantra Peace, Love, Donuts is shared regularly by Bobby and his family. “We love to be the magic,” he says. “Giving kindness to our guests even if we only share their day for a few minutes.”
