World Password Day

Build stronger, safer password

In hopes to inspire better, stronger password habits, World Password Day was created in 2013 and takes place every year on the first Thursday in May. By celebrating World Password Day, Alpine Bank continues to promote awareness about the importance of strong passwords. Changing up your passwords often is a small, yet effective way to protect yourself online.

Password best practices

  • Audit your passwords: Are they strong enough? Think long, complex and unique! Ditch the “password123” and embrace using a passphrase.
  • Embrace the password manager: Let technology be your ally. A good password manager can generate and store those complex codes for you, making your life easier and your security tighter.
  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is your best friend: Think of it like having two different keys to unlock your online accounts instead of just one password. This makes it much harder for bad guys to get in, even if they somehow guess your password. Enable it wherever possible!

In today’s digital landscape, a strong password is your first line of defense. It’s the difference between a secure transaction and a potential breach. It’s about protecting ourselves and our peace of mind.
