Don’t be fooled by scammers impersonating companies

Scammers impersonating companies, including banks, are sending phishing (fraudulent) text messages. DO NOT click any links in these text messages or send a reply.

What is being sent:

  • These text messages can contain spoofed login pages, messages indicate the person’s account is locked or there is a pending transaction.
  • However, the messages vary by sender, and can include other deceptive weblinks or content meant to deceive the user into revealing sensitive information.

What should you do:

  • Do not enter your username or password into links from text messages.
  • Report the message as spam using your messaging app.

If messages are impersonating Alpine Bank:

  • If you did enter your username and password, contact Alpine Bank immediately
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., at 800-551-6098. Or come into a branch location.
  • Please send a screenshot of the message to [email protected].
  • We are doing our best to get spoofed websites removed.
  • We are working with customers who input their credentials to minimize any losses.
  • We are working with different services to stop the spam messages.

Always remember:

  • Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking you to act, especially if the content creates a sense of urgency.
  • Do not click links in messages.
  • When in doubt, contact Alpine Bank on a known number.
  • Financial institutions will never ask you for your password or login information.
  • If you receive a questionable text message or email claiming to be from Alpine Bank, please send a copy to [email protected].
  • If you suspect fraudulent activity on your account, Alpine Bank customer service and internet banking support representatives are available to take your call Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., at 800-551-6098.
