Regaining independence

Your mobility should never be limited by your ability

At Mobility Driven, every project is a promise of independence.

Owner Robert Dittmer started the Grand Junction based business after seeing his own father struggle with mobility issues after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).

So, Dittmer, a body shop professional by trade, coupled his personal and career expertise to begin serving the broader mobility-impaired community.

He began installing and servicing hand controls in his garage in 2015 and quickly found there was a greater need. His clients can now live fuller lives with a range of adaptive mobility products and services, including vehicle hand controls, transfer seats and wheelchair lifts.

“Our business is so different from most,” explained Dittmer. “Every day we get to help local families, in some of their worst times, find solutions to get them active and back into our local community.”

When asked what he thought his superpower was, Dittmer said his ability to listen.

“Most of our job is listening to better understand our clientele,” noted Dittmer. “Everyone is different, and they have different needs, understanding those needs and challenges is so important.”

This mindset allows the Mobility Driven staff to make sure each client’s unique needs are met with care and precision. Dittmer and his team are redefining what it means to be truly independent.
