We’ve also enhanced how we assess non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees. For example, if we don’t cover the transaction and return the item as unpaid, and regardless of whether your account is overdrawn, Alpine Bank will no longer assess the NSF returned item fee.

Alpine Bank will assess its standard NSF paid item fee of $15.00 if the overdraft is a result of a transaction greater than $3.00 but less than $15.01, or a $38.00 NSF paid item fee if the overdraft is the result of a transaction of $15.01 or greater, and the transaction overdraws your account by more than $15.01 (meaning you have a negative $15.01, or more, account balance.)

$38 NSF fee
For a transaction of $15.01 or more and that  overdraws your account $15.01 or more
$15 NSF fee
For a transaction greater than $3.00 but less than $15.01, and that overdraws your account $15.01 or more

On consumer accounts: For recurring debit card transactions, certain pre-authorized ACH transactions, one-time debit card transactions (assuming you have opted in) and ATM transactions (assuming you have opted in), we will not assess an NSF paid item fee if your available balance was sufficient at the time we authorized the transaction, even if your current balance is insufficient at the time we pay it during our nightly processing. In other words, for those specific transactions above, if your available balance is sufficient when we authorize the transaction or your current balance is sufficient when we pay it, you will not be assessed an NSF paid item fee.

On business accounts: For recurring debit card transactions, certain pre-authorized ACH transactions, one-time debit card transactions and ATM transactions, Alpine Bank will not assess an NSF paid item fee if your available balance was sufficient at the time we authorized the transaction, even if your current balance is insufficient at the time we pay it during our nightly processing. In other words, for those specific transactions above, if your available balance is sufficient when we authorize the transaction or your current balance is sufficient when we pay it, you will not be assessed an NSF paid item fee.
