Meet Melissa Knutson – CFP®, Vice President – Trust Officer with Alpine Bank Wealth Management. In her role she serves clients locally in the Roaring Fork Valley — and several beyond that geography. Melissa has obtained several certifications, including the Certified Financial Planner™ designation, and is currently working toward to her Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) credential.
Melissa is highly capable and driven: She earned a bachelor’s in communication studies at the University of Texas at Austin in just three years and graduated with honors, notwithstanding the fact that she paid her way through college working multiple part-time jobs. Earlier and not surprisingly, she was the valedictorian of her high school graduating class.
Melissa joined Alpine Bank on leap day — February 29, 2016. Despite that magical anniversary date, she is considered to be celebrating her seventh anniversary in 2023! She has worked in the financial planning industry since 2008.
Melissa’s volunteer and community contribution includes serving as a board director with Mountain Valley Developmental Services, an organization that provides support for individuals with developmental disabilities through a variety of services and levels of care.
“I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect, be included and be provided with individual opportunities so they can thrive and grow,” says Melissa.
For work-life balance, Melissa enjoys yoga, travel, cooking (and eating), hiking with her family’s Australian shepherd Strider, snowboarding, camping, kayaking, paddle boarding and enjoying the beauty and adventure of nature with husband Scot and their toddler Kai. The couple is expecting their second child this spring.
