Angela Meraz,
senior vice president and New Castle branch
manager, celebrates a silver anniversary with Alpine Bank in 2019. Her
reputation as a solid performer, team leader and customer service pro at the
bank is rivaled only by the size of her heart.
Angela takes her
can-do attitude with her as a board member for the River Center in New Castle.
This nonprofit identifies and addresses unmet needs in the community with
compassionate volunteerism. The staff and volunteers have 12 outreach programs
annually, including the Angel Tree and Community Garden. And they work
hard every day to ensure that kids in the community aren’t going hungry, or
they’re lending a hand to help people get on their feet.
“It’s a group of
individuals who just want to help make things a little better when there is a
feeling of hopelessness,” says Angela. “The River Center program really
spoke to my heart.”
When Angela isn’t working
or volunteering, you’ll likely find her motoring her kids to sporting
events all around Colorado. And when they get an occasional break from the
sports season’s demands, the Meraz family is camping and exploring the
outdoors.
