The new Alpine Bank in Colorado Springs is set to open in the downtown area at 90 S. Cascade Ave., Ste. 100 this fall. During renovations, the bank can be found at 2 N. Cascade Ave., Ste. 1090. The market president, Matthew Hanson, is on site and available to assist customers with personal and business loans.
Matthew, a Colorado Springs native who graduated from Lewis Palmer High School, recently lived in Breckenridge. He has spent the last 14 years in the mountains of Colorado, where he started as a golf professional and was eventually recruited to Alpine Bank. Over a decade, Matthew worked his way up from a teller in Avon to become the market president in Summit County.
Matthew believes that the best banking is centered around people. “I truly believe that if I take great care of my staff, they will take great care of our customers. And if you take great care of customers, you will never want for customers,” he says. “At Alpine, we find great people, take care of them, and set them loose to deliver our core values in our communities.”
The core values of the bank are Independence, Integrity, Loyalty, Compassion, and Community. Of these, Community holds a special place in Matthew’s heart. “Community is the avenue we have to deliver on our other core values. It allows us to show that we are a strong, independent bank that operates with integrity, has and shows loyalty, and serves and leads with compassion,” he says.
Matthew feels that Alpine Bank and Colorado Springs are a perfect match. “We make communities better through our banking practices. Supporting entrepreneurs and making dreams come true is what we’re in the business of, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to be a part of it,” he says.
Supporting community nonprofits is also a passion for Matthew and his team. He is a strong advocate of the bank’s Loyalty Debit Card program. “It provides an opportunity to align bank philanthropy with customer values in the communities where we live and do business,” he says. “We don’t just give money, we also give our time to many organizations.”
Matthew and his wife Cori, whom he met in Colorado Springs, have four children. The family loves outdoor recreational activities in Colorado, such as skiing, biking, hiking, and trail running. Matthew has coached his son’s baseball teams and plans to continue doing so as the family settles into their new home in Colorado Springs this summer.
