Honoring the life and legacy of J. Robert “Bob” Young

For more than 50 years, Bob Young built Alpine Bank on a foundation of compassion and community connection. His vision created more than a bank; it created a culture where caring
for others comes first.

As we celebrate Bob’s remarkable life, we invite you to share your thoughts, memories and stories. Whether it’s a moment of kindness, a lesson learned or simply what Bob meant to you, your words will help honor his enduring spirit and inspire future generations.

Because as Bob often reminded us: “the most valuable thing one person can give to another is caring. When you care, everything else just follows.”

Let’s keep that promise alive, together.

I worked with Bob, and the incredible Alpine team that grew from his vision for community banking, for more than 40 years. The reason I kept coming to work, from day one, wasn’t banking… It was Bob’s consistent, steady, and quiet guidance, grounded in how we should treat people. Bob showed me that we are here to serve our Alpine team members, our communities, and our customers, and that if we did so genuinely, everyone would benefit, including shareholders. My family and I are better off because of Bob. All of us who call Colorado home are better off because Bob chose to call Colorado home. It’s full speed ahead for the Alpine team, because that’s what Bob would want!
