Boulder Community Health, the nonprofit, community-owned health system at the foot of the Flatirons, had a 100-year celebration in April 2022. In support of its centennial, they asked the question, “How have we helped you be everything you were born to be?”
The organization asserts that each of its patients deserves to feel 100%, so they can live their “Why”.
It’s this foundational commitment to patient wellbeing — providing every person the opportunity to attain their full health potential — that has resulted in their innovative technologies and services to the community. Those range from the award-winning family birth center, to the creation of a new student athlete cardiac screening process, to their revolutionary outpatient treatment for essential tremor.
Its affiliated nonprofit organization, Boulder Community Health (BCH) Foundation, was established in 1978 to inspire charitable giving in support of the quality and availability of healthcare in the Boulder community. The foundation engages in both fundraising and “friend-raising”, with opportunities for people to give back by way of volunteerism in addition to monetary donations.
“A milestone like this is an opportunity to reflect on our incredible past, recognize our present, and look ahead to an even brighter future,” says Grant Besser, the vice president of community health and engagement and president of the foundation. “For 100 years, Boulder Community Health has thrived, right alongside the Boulder Valley. This amazing organization was born a century ago from a powerful but simple insight — local control of healthcare resources is the best approach to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of Boulder County families.”
Partnerships are the heart of Boulder Community Health and its organizational vision to create and care for the healthiest community in the nation.
“Support from organizations like Alpine Bank is critical to fulfill our vision and mission,” says Grant. “That support over the years is a testament to Alpine’s strong advocacy of our work to enhance healthcare in the community.”
