Showing the love

Showing the love with free chicken and beer for veterans.

On Friday, November 11, Post Chicken & Beer will serve a free lunch or dinner to veterans. A two-piece fried chicken meal, with a side and a biscuit — plus a pint of their gold-medal-winning El Corn Amber Lager, is included. Alpine Bank is supporting Post’s efforts with a contribution of $3,000 toward their Veterans Day campaign to provide the complimentary meals for veterans and military service personnel.

“Every day, Alpine Bank recognizes the sacrifices of veterans past and present,” says Alpine Bank market president Matt Teeters. “On Veterans Day in particular, we want to extend our thanks for the selfless service of our military.”

Post’s first restaurant and brewery opened in 2014 in the old Lafayette Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post, so the name Post came naturally, and it stuck.

“We are honored to partner with Alpine Bank in supporting our veterans,” says Post chef and founder Brett ‘Smitty’ Smith. Brett has hit on a successful formula with his signature chicken and beer, which is now served at seven Colorado Post locations. He starts with humanely raised, all-natural brined chicken, dips it in buttermilk, dredges it in seasoned gluten-free flour then pressure-fries it. “The goal is to fry up the crispiest, juiciest hot chicken around and brew beers that are gosh-darn delicious,” he says.

All Post Chicken & Beer locations in Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Fort Collins, LoHi and Rosedale in Denver and Estes Park are offering the free meal for vets on Veterans Day 2022.
