Growing Gardens is the go-to source to find a recipe for quick dill pickles, or discover what to plant in a butterfly garden. For more than two decades, this nonprofit has hosted community gardens, classes and numerous youth programs—including a CSA run by teen farmers. Their recently added goat dairy program has their happy herd grazing on cover crops and weeds to help save on both labor and fossil fuels, while supporting holistic and regenerative care of the land.

Growing Gardens’ programs empower people of all ages, income levels, and abilities by connection to their local food systems and opportunities to learn more about gardening, cooking and nutrition. Thousands of pounds of produce, as well as plant starts and seeds, are donated to low-income community members for greater food security and hunger relief. GrowingGardens.org
