LEAD THE WAY WITH VOLUNTEERISM

Alpine Bank employees that lead the way with volunteerism! We’re sharing stories about our Alpine
Bank family and the organizations they serve, all across Colorado. Alpine Bank provides each of its full-
time employees with 24 hours of paid volunteer time annually. With 890 employees, we have the
potential to provide 21,360 hours of community and nonprofit service each year.

Jamie Saff, Senior Vice President/Manager, Montrose

Organization: Montrose Economic Development Corporation (MEDC)

Length of volunteer service: A year and a half

Volunteer role: Board member

In Jamie’s own words:

Montrose Economic Development Corporation’s mission is to strengthen Montrose County’s economic
base and increase the standard of living for all its residents. They do this through the retention,
expansion, attraction, and development of primary jobs and capital investments through the promotion
of workforce enhancement, agriculture advancement, and other business development that provides
economic diversification and stabilization. Volunteering with MEDC gives me the opportunity to work
with other community-minded leaders in Montrose, and to learn more about economic growth and
development in our community. I enjoy being part of this organization that is committed to finding
solutions for strategic growth in a rapidly changing market.

Betsy Wood, Director of Community Outreach, Steamboat Springs

Organization: Northwest Rocky Mountain CASA

Length of volunteer service: January to May 6, 2023, the date of the Dancing with the Stars fundraising
event

Volunteer role: Fundraising volunteer for Northwest Rocky Mountain CASA. Since January, Betsy has
been actively raising corporate sponsorships and personal votes and donations for her participation in
the local version of “Dancing with the Stars”, which will take place May 6 at the Strings Pavilion.

In Betsy’s own words:
I’m participating in Dancing with the Stars and volunteering to help raise money for the amazing work
CASA does on behalf of children in Routt County. As a mother of two sons ages nine and seven, Otis and
Segar, it’s unbearable to think what many kids go through. I want all kids struggling with domestic abuse
and neglect to have a better life.
