Celebrate the environment

Champions of the environment can get so involved with the cause they sometimes forget to stop and simply enjoy and appreciate our miraculous planet. 

In a season of celebrating that for which we’re thankful, why not take the opportunity to celebrate the environment? Here are some ways to reconnect to the earth, celebrate its wonder and diversity and remind yourself exactly what you’re fighting for:

• Explore a park, national or otherwise
• Bask in the sun
• Cloud-gaze
• Spend the day at a botanical garden
• Walk or hike in nature
• Get near, in or on the water
• Marvel at the heavenly bodies
• Pack a picnic and eat in nature
• Visit a zoo
• Bring nature indoors with houseplants
• Plan a butterfly garden
• Clean up and/or beautify a public spot that could use some attention
• Go on a local shopping spree
• Investigate and read environmental books that inform and inspire
• Symbolically adopt an endangered animal
