Carbondale’s Learning Garden

Lifelong learning and empowering individuals to take responsibility for themselves, their learning and their community—that’s the mission of Compass. Since 1970, this nonprofit educational organization has been the backbone of the Aspen and Carbondale Community Schools, public charter schools educating kids from kindergarten through eighth grade in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. The arts, physical education, community service and experiential education are at the core of their curriculum. At the Learning Garden, pictured here, the kids plant, water, weed and harvest to cultivate their love of learning, healthy food and nature. DiscoverCompass.org
